The NIGF holds at least three events per year across different locations in the North of England and Scotland. These events are open to anyone working in Data Protection and IT Security and provide a forum for networking and learning more about how other organisations are implementing improvements in this area.
Events usually last half a day and are themed around a specific topic area.
Here’s a list of our planned events. Seats are limited so if you would like to attend, sign up by clicking on the Eventbrite link (when it is available) in the event description.
Unfortunately due to the current Covid-19 situation, we have decided to postpone the next NIGF event, which was to be held on June 9th in Edinburgh. We are keen to ensure that our next event is in Scotland as planned with a focus on IT Security, so further information will be provided as soon as possible on a revised date for this event and any affect this may have on dates for the Carlisle event which was planned for 21st September 2020. In the meantime we will be reviewing our current website to ensure we can improve the way the Forum works in future and will provide updates on any new developments as and when they occur.
Our first event in Carlisle and our fourth NIGF event. Please check back here for further details nearer the time.
The Northern Information Governance Forum (NIGF) welcomes Information Governance and IT professionals to our second event. This event has a particular focus on Accountability and will be held at Wigan Town Hall on the 30th January.
It will host speakers from leading organisations including the Data Protection Officer from the Newcastle Building Society sharing his experience of implementing the GDPR’s accountability principle, the Information Governance Manager from Wigan Council speaking about making the best use of Social Media and the Internet and a series of breakout sessions to allow more in depth discussion on different areas of accountability including:
The event is free of charge and includes free refreshments.
